Made by the sea

For nearly two centuries, Talisker single malt has been crafted on the shores of Isle of Skye, where wild coastlines embrace the untamed sea. It’s here you'll find adventure in a bottle.

The Talisker collection captures the elemental wildness and pure beauty of its birthplace, creating a full-bodied single malt whisky with depth and character.

Every sip of Talisker is a sip of Skye. A place where the elements collide to create a liquid so raw, yet refined. A taste of rugged luxury born out of respect for the wild sea.

Coastal Restoration

For nearly two centuries, the Talisker distillery has stood sentinel over the rugged Scottish coast of Loch Harport. Through wind and rain, storm and even fire, we have endured. But now we face our greatest test.

The shallow coastal waters of our home are the foundation of the wild ocean. When they falter, the entire ecosystem falters with them.

Research from The Blue Marine reveals that these habitats, vital to coastal wildlife, are facing significant decline. Since industrialisation began, 92% of seagrass habitat in the UK has been lost and native oyster reefs have reduced by 95% globally over the last century

Restoring them is more urgent than ever.

Taking action

Talisker has supported marine NGOs for many years. A three-year partnership with global environmental organization Parley was followed by a limited-edition bottle supporting marine habitat restoration with the Blue Marine Foundation.

Now we take the next step.

We are proud to begin a new partnership with Seawilding, to help bring abundant wildlife back to the seabeds and shores of Scotland’s west coast.

Talisker in Partnership with Seawilding

Over three years, we’re investing £600,000 to fund native oyster and seagrass restoration projects in Loch Craignish and Loch Harport – to help bring vital marine life and biodiversity back to these lochs over the next decade and beyond, helping protect them for future generations. The Loch Harport waters have been home to the Talisker Distillery for generations.

The award-winning charity, Seawilding, is the UK's first to run a community-based native oyster and seagrass restoration project.

Talisker has been inspired and invigorated by Isle of Skye since the MacAskill brothers opened the distillery at Carbost in 1830. Through generations, changes of ownership, and even a fire, Talisker has always kept Skye at the heart of the brand and the whisky.
